Fraxel Dual® Laser

The Fraxel Dual® really combines two lasers into one, and its 1927 nm wavelength enables for surface treatment (improving pigmentation). The 1550nm wavelength, on the other hand, focuses on skin texture (improving deep lines and acne scars). Depending on your needs, you may utilize the parts alone or together.

What does the Fraxel Dual® Laser do?

With small laser columns that penetrate deeply into your skin to hasten your body’s collagen reconstruction, the Fraxel laser therapy targets aging and sun-damaged skin. Additionally, because the laser only affects a small portion of the tissue at once, the surrounding tissue is left unharmed, which encourages very quick recovery.

What are the benefits of the Fraxel Dual® laser?

Any sort of skin defect, including blemishes, scars, fine wrinkles, sun damage, rosacea, age spots, hyperpigmentation, surgical scars, and uneven skin tone, can be removed with a Fraxel Dual® Laser therapy. It helps to revitalize the skin and enhance skin tone.

How can I prepare for the Fraxel Dual® laser?

  • Stop use of Accutane 6-12 months before any treatments

  • Stop using any other acne treatments, especially topical retinoids, at least three weeks prior to therapy (Retin-A and derivatives)

  • Make sure your face is free of severe breakouts, open sores, or infections.

  • On the day of the procedure, stay away from coffee and alcohol.

  • On the day of treatment, consume a light, nutritious lunch.

  • If you recently tanned your skin, avoid getting a treatment.

  • Wear comfortable/ washable sweats or clothes

  • Arrive with no make-up or eye contacts

  • Bring a wide-brimmed hat to your appointment to wear after your treatment.

  • *Note: If you are pregnant or breast feeding you are not a candidate for the Fraxel Duel® Laser procedure.

What can I expect during my Fraxel Duel® Laser appointment?

The Fraxel Dua® Laser procedure is performed in our office. Our patients receive topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort. The Fraxel Dual is enhanced with a chiller device to help reduce swelling and aid in cooling. Your skin will feel more sensitive after the procedure.

What happens during my recovery from Fraxel Duel® Laser?

Fraxel Dual downtime varies, depending on the settings and the individual. If your settings are more aggressive, you will have more swelling and downtime. Also, different people will have different degrees of swelling and redness.
